Welcome

The 2015 DC House Project

Greetings from San Luis Obispo, California.

This website is dedicated to the development of a DC House system. A DC house is a house that is powered by DC electricity rather than the legacy AC electrical system. When we started the DC House project in 2010, the primary motivation was to help provide an alternative solution for off-grid rural electrification by utilizing one or multiple small-scale renewable energy sources in conjunction with a centralized battery system and DC electrical distribution system. At present, the main goal remains the same but has expanded well beyond technological development for rural electrification. This includes, for example, adoption of DC house technologies to urban homes, smart homes, zero-carbon homes, and other platforms that requires efficient DC electrical system.

This website aims to share progresses, updates, accomplishments and other pertaining information related to the DC House Project. We truly hope that after browsing through this website you will find this project interesting. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you and hope you consider joining us in this exciting endeavor.

Sincerely,
